COASTAL EXTENSION ESSAOUIRA - TAGHAZOUT
Why not head out tot the coast for some new sights, sounds and adventures.
Essaouira a Unesco World Heritage site has been subject to Portuguese, Berber, Jewish, French and Dutch influence. Here we can explore the Kasbah, its narrow lanes, blue trimmed houses, enjoy the markets, ride camels, surf the waves in our kayaks or just enjoy the coast.
The Port of Essaouira is an outstanding example of a fortified town of the mid-eighteenth century, a picturesque fishing harbor with medina walls, blue shutters, twisting derbs (alleyways), along with sea, sand and surf. Since its foundation, it has been a major international trading seaport, linking Morocco and its Saharan hinterland with Europe and the rest of the world.
We will arrive in the afternoon, surf in our kayaks and explore this ancient town with its amazing souk (market). The following day we can ride the dunes on a camel and head south to the quaint fishing village of Taghazout for another explore or surf.
Returning to Marrakech on Monday the 17th in time to fly out to the USA.
