THE MAIN SALMON - A CLASSIC US RIVER TRIP

Trip Dates : AUGUST 10 – 15th 2018 Trip Cost : Adults $1750.00  Kids: $1550.00 US

Our favorite classic, the Main Salmon River in Idaho. Our trip offers a rich river experience. Free flowing, big volume, pool drop, Class II/III whitewater that’s great for any age and experience level. Big sandy beaches that are perfect for camping and playing, spectacular mountain scenery, abundant wildlife, and a natural hot spring. The Main Salmon is perfect for taking the family and friends on an ADVENTURE in the wilderness.

6 DAYS AND 5 NIGHTS IN THE WILDERNESS

BEAUTIFUL PLACE: The canyon of the Main is one of the deepest in North America, and is home to bear, moose, bighorn sheep, elk, coyote, and numerous bird species-great blue heron, bald eagle, golden eagle, raven, osprey, water ouzel, sandpiper, and northern flicker. The river canyon remains pristine because past plans for dams, railroads, and roadways have proved to be impractical in this dramatic landscape. The only sign of human intrusion is some jet boat traffic from the few seasonal residents and an ice cream shop halfway down!

WHITEWATER:  The Main Salmon is big western water at its best with its friendly, deep pool-drop rapids, Class II/III+ whitewater. You may want to kayak this river, join a paddle raft,  hop aboard a gear raft and be rowed down the river in style.  Tackle the rapids in a duckie or on a paddle board. We have the instructors and experience to help you enjoy your whitewater wilderness trip.

HISTORY: Dubbed the “River of No Return” by early prospectors, the Main Salmon is packed with the past: pictographs, old cabins, Buckskin Bills, Lewis and Clark are all part of the intricate history of this rugged remote wilderness area.
